  • Prevented deportation of an indigent client by prevailing on a difficult claim for asylum, withholding from removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture

Andrea Contreras

Associate / LOS ANGELES

Andrea Contreras is a litigation associate at Gerard Fox Law.  She represents clients in complex litigation matters, with experience in antitrust, business, commercial, class action, financial services, securities, products liability, and intellectual property disputes.  Before joining Gerard Fox Law, P.C., Ms. Contreras was a litigation associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP in Los Angeles, where she represented Fortune 100 companies and high-profile clients in all aspects of litigation.

Ms. Contreras graduated from Columbia Law School, where she served on the Columbia Science and Technology Law Review and on the executive board of the Latino/a Law Students Association.  During law school, she competed on several moot court teams and earned recognition as the Best Oralist by the National Latino/a Law Students Association.  Ms. Contreras received her bachelor of arts, cum laude, in neuroscience and political science from the University of Southern California, where she was also a member of the nationally ranked mock trial team.

Ms. Contreras is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Los Angeles.  She also regularly gives back to the community through pro bono service, with experience representing clients in education, immigration, unlawful detainer, and access-to-justice matters.  Ms. Contreras is a three-time recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services from the State Bar of California.
