Gerard Fox Law Announces New Partners for 2018

Gerard Fox Law congratulates its new partners, Janine Cohen, Michael Murphy, Sebastian Kaplan, and Scott Abeles. Janine Cohen, Los Angeles Office

Janine specializes in commercial litigation and has worked on numerous cases since joining the firm, including a securities action, a derivative action against the manager of an LLC, an attorneys’ fee dispute, an insurance coverage dispute, and an action involving a fraudulent EB-5 investment scheme.  Janine has participated in a FINRA arbitration and has assisted others in trial by providing support where needed. 

Michael Murphy, Los Angeles Office

Michael has litigated multiple corporate governance disputes, real estate litigation, defending suits involving allegations of fraud and breached fiduciary duties, a trademark licensing dispute, and led an arbitration team arising out of a multimillion dollar dispute in the entertainment industry, among other matters.  Michael is proud to be a member of the talented Gerard Fox team of professionals who love trials and litigation as much as he does, in any forum, and in any state in the nation.    

Sebastian Kaplan, San Francisco Office

Sebastian litigates intellectual property and commercial disputes, with experience in the technology sector. Since joining Gerard Fox Law, he has been handling multiple multi-million dollar commercial disputes and recently prevailed on an appeal where the court found our client offered “the only reasonable interpretation” of a disputed agreement. He also handles trademark prosecution and portfolio management services for many of the firm’s clients.

Scott Abeles, Washington, D.C. Office

Scott oversees the firm's Washington, DC office. He is a trial lawyer and appellate advocate on high-stakes, complex civil cases. Scott has significant experience with antitrust litigation and extensive experience briefing complex issues in the United States Supreme Court and the courts of appeal.
